If someone is impersonating us
We will never ask for your Social Security number, bank login, card number, or an upfront payment — not by phone, not by email, not by text. If you have been contacted by someone claiming to be Unclaimit who asked for any of those, please forward it to help@unclaimit.com and do not reply to them.
Reaching the state directly
You never need us in order to claim your own property. The California State Controller’s Unclaimed Property Division handles claims directly and free of charge. County surplus and excess proceeds are handled by the tax collector for the county where the property sold.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, account numbers, or images of identity documents by email. If a claim requires them, we will tell you how to provide them securely.
